Winter vacation

The Chiemgau and Berchtesgadener Land regions offer active vacationers an endless array of leisure activities.

How about a family-friendly winter hike, for example? The Falkensteinrunde trail takes about two hours to complete and passes three idyllic lakes. Experience pure winter magic!

Those who want to take on sporting challenges will also find what they are looking for here: a variety of challenging snowshoe hiking routes and a 400 km network of cross-country skiing trails await you.

The Hochfelln, Unternberg, Westernberg, and Steinplatte-Winkelmoosalm ski areas can be reached in 20–50 minutes by car.

A special highlight can be found right on our doorstep: in winter, you can go ice skating on Lake Waginger See. If the ice cover is not thick enough, there are alternative options such as the Ruhpolding ice rink, the Inzell ice rink, and the Trostberg ice stadium, all of which can be reached by car in just a few minutes.

The Maria Eck natural toboggan run is only about a 25-minute drive away. The two-kilometer-long, family-friendly toboggan run is ideal for leisurely sledding. It leads from the Maria Eck pilgrimage church to the valley station of the Hochfelln cable car.

If you want to take it easy, you can go for a walk on the well-groomed paths around the hotel. Afterwards, you can warm up in our wellness area with Finnish sauna, steam bath, and daybed.
