Waging und Waginger Lake
The Landhaus Tanner nestles in the rolling landscape of the Alpine foothills surround-ed by woodlands and prairies, close to shore of Lake “Waginger See”, the warmest lake in Bavaria. A short walk takes you to centre of the historic town of Waging, where you can take a pleasant and relaxing stroll, visit several small museums and look around the quaint shops.
“Salzburger Land” County
Crossing the near border, you can visit the “Salzburger Land” county, notably the world famous cultural metropolis of Salzburg with its innumerable cultural and artistic attrac-tions. Mozart’s hometown is worth visiting in any season. Leaving the city of Salzburg, you reach immediately the “Salzkammergut” holiday region – a real treasure chest for exploration tours and days out.
Bad Reichenhall
The historic town of Bad Reichenhall, which is well known for its salt mine, lies south of Waging am See. Until today, the town is world-renowned for its healthy air and the natural salt. The town of Berchtesgaden and Lake “Königssee”, only a stone’s throw away from Bad Reichenhall, are worth visiting, too.
Historic Towns on River Inn and River Salzach
To the north, you will find several historic towns in the “Inn” Valley and “Salzach” Val-ley, which are all interesting places for a day out: for example Laufen, Tittmoning and Burghausen. They have all in common a beautiful old town that has been carefully restored with great respect and knowledge of history. It is really advisable to visit these towns for a stroll or sightseeing.
